A living room is a room in a domestic house or apartment for calming and socializing. Lounge rooms are at times referred to as front room particularly when they are near the main entrance at the forward-facing part of the house. For big official houses, a sitting room is regularly a small secluded living area adjacent to a bedroom. For houses that don’t have a parlor, the living room can also work as a reception room. A chair is defined as a piece of furniture made of a raised surface sustained by legs, ordinarily used to seat a single person. Seats are mostly supported by four legs and are made of a back. In some cases, chairs can be made of three legs or have different shapes. Chairs are built of various constituents, varying from wood to metal and to synthetic material such as plastic. Chairs are used in different rooms of homes, in schools and offices and also in various other workplaces. A the stool is a chair that lack a back or arms rests and a bar stool is a raised stool. A cushion on the other hand refers to a member of furniture for seating three or more people, with or without arms, that is moderately or completely padded, and often tailored with springs and tailored cushions.

At times a couch is used for sleeping. Normally, couches are situated in the family room, living room, and the lounge. At times couches are found in non-residential settings such as hotels, lobbies of commercial offices, waiting rooms, and bars. A chaise lounge, on the other hand, is a decorated sofa shaped like a chair that is long enough to support the legs. Conventionally, chaise lounge have been linked to psychoanalysis and countless psychoanalysts keep on using the chaises lounges in their offices for use in psychotherapy. In current French the phrase chaise lounge can be used to refer to any long reclining chair such as a deckchair.
